Political Prisoners in Tibet used to weave bracelets made from the threads of their prison uniforms as a symbol of defiance against Chinese government’s oppression.

The weaving pattern, known as Chumig Gudril (nine-eyed sprint), is a traditional pattern that was believed to help ward of illnesses and were used as slingshot by Tibetan nomads.

Tibetan refugee in India weave this bracelet in the hope that it will spread awareness of the plight of the Tibetan people. Please wear it to show your solidarity with the struggle for freedom and human rights in Tibet.
